We’re looking for a data engineer to design and build data pipelines, models and prepare data sources for visualization tools like Tableau in our Tallinn office. In this role, you will get a chance to work with our awesome data engineering team with cutting-edge technologies (Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, Airflow) where the main goal is to understand business questions/problems and provide answers via analytical models. We run thousands of data processing tasks every day. Our platform is an AWS cloud and we are processing dozens of terabytes of data daily with scalable distributed clusters. Your new adventure:
- Design, implement, document, and visualize reusable analytical models.
- Develop and deploy developed data solutions. Monitor for possible errors and performance issues. Detect, analyze, and fix code and data defects.
- Discover needs and analyze requirements from internal customers.
- Assist internal customers in using the Data Warehouse (DWH) efficiently.
- Follow and help improve the ETL development processes and team's best practices. Learn and promote the tribe's best practices.
- Lead system design and architecture initiatives across the team.
- Perform code reviews and provide quality feedback to peers.
- On-board new developers to the tribe.
- Be on-call when it’s your turn, react to alerts, and resolve production incidents.
Does this sound like you?
- At least 3 years of engineering experience (preferably in Python)
- Hands-on experience with building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
- Experience with distributed data processing systems (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink)
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience with SQL and data modeling
- Knowledge of modern data stack tools and trends in the Data industry
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- BSc or MSc in computer science, mathematics, statistics (or similar), or comparable relevant experience
